Gort Trapped in Low Tech

Okay, you've probably seen this flick if you're a serious sci-fi fan. Serious meaning you've seen the original a couple of times and can repeat key sections of dialog at book clubs and conventions, and if you're like me, you may even have a solid steel model of Gort (plastic doesn't cut it--unless it's steel encased in plastic). By the way, trapping Gort in steel "garage doors" instead of the cool plastic was unimaginative at best. I mean, we've got all kinds of secret government weapons' think tanks, right? So why not trap the big guy in some sort of new force field? (Of course, he'd melt that away, but you get where I'm going here.) And can you believe there was nary a Nikto mentioned in the whole film? Gotta go. More to come...
