Iron Man 2: A Solid Guy

Working with a lot of the same elements which made the first film so successful, Iron Man 2 manages to avoid falling into the pitfalls of so many other superhero sequels. We're introduced to new characters, but they feel organic to the plot instead of tacked-on for fan service.
Robert Downey Jr. basically masturbates his way through this movie, which works because that's the type of guy Tony Stark is supposed to be anyway. The characterization also lays a lot of the ground work for the upcoming Avengers film, since they're showing us that Tony is certainly not leader material, no matter how much he wants to be.
Favreau nails the tone for the direction again, with a good balance of humor and action, although the interactions with Pepper don't have the charm that they did in the first film. Don Cheadle is a great replacement for Rhodes, and Scarlett Johansson rounds out an excellent Black Widow with one of the best fight scenes in the whole film.
If you enjoyed the first one for the fun popcorn flick that it was, you should enjoy Iron Man 2 just as much. The villains were handled much better this time around, but some of Tony's inner turmoil did begin to drag-on too much.
