Jennifer Connelly answers my question

I met Jennifer Connelly several months ago. She looked stunning as usual. I asked her about her role in The Day the Earth Stood Still. How did she prepare for a remake of one of the classic science fiction films ever made? “I approached it the way I would approach any film or drama,” said Connelly. “I thought about who she is, a microbiologist, so I did some reading on that. I got my hands on lots of books that I would have liked to have spent more time on than I should….”
In Earth Stood Still, Connelly added an extra dimension to the role made famous by Patricia Neal. Regrettably, I really felt that Connelly's talents were under-utilized. As a microbiologist, she should have been given more to do than childcare. The beginning of the film showed promise as she was literally abducted from her home to join other scientists to sort out what was to come.
And that, boys and girls, is all I have time for tonight...until next time...
